Senator Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni is a Nigerian politician, public administrator and legislator who represents the Lagos Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly. He is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has built a political career spanning local government administration, the Lagos State House of Assembly and the Nigerian Senate. Born on 24 March 1961 in Lagos, Senator Eshinlokun-Sanni is associated with the Eshinlokun royal family of Lagos. He developed an interest in public affairs and grassroots politics early in his career and became actively involved in political activities in Lagos. His political career includes service at the local-government level. He served as Executive Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government from 2008 to 2014, gaining experience in grassroots administration, community engagement and local development. He subsequently served in the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Lagos Island Constituency I. During his tenure, he rose to become Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2015, a position he held until 2023. His years in the state legislature included legislative activities, constituency representation and community-focused initiatives.
Senator Eshinlokun-Sanni's educational background includes studies at the University of Lagos, where he obtained a degree in Agricultural Economics, alongside further professional and executive education. In the 2023 general election, he contested the Lagos Central senatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress and was elected to the 10th National Assembly. He was inaugurated as a Senator in June 2023, succeeding Senator Oluremi Tinubu as representative of the Lagos Central Senatorial District. As a Senator, Eshinlokun-Sanni has participated in legislative debates, motions, committee activities and constituency-oriented programmes.
